Conrad Toft is directing the ECC panto, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, at the Auderghem Cultural Centre from 26-28 January 2024. The show offers plenty of roles for singers and non-singers, including some great cameos.
Auditions for the following Principal Roles will take place at The Warehouse Studio Theatre (in the bar room) on Sunday, 4 June (15:00-17:00) and Tuesday, 6 June (19:00-21:30)
- FAIRY FOXGLOVE A fairy easy character to describe (Female)
- GIANT Deep, booming voice, must be comfortable with stilts! (Male)
- SIMPLE SIMON Jack’s best friend. Lots of audience interaction. Singing role. (Male)
- WIDOW TWANKY The dame. Singing role. (Male)
- JACK Our protagonist. Lots of audience interaction. Singing role. (Female)
- BARON HARDUP Boo! Hiss! Could have a song if he has a good voice! (Male)
- MOULES Our Wallonian wally (Female/Male)
- FRIETJES Our Flemish fool (Female/Male)
- GOLDILOCKS Simon’s love interest, who can’t be bovvered. Singing role. (Female)
- JILL Baron Hardup’s daughter and Jack’s love interest. Singing role. (Female)
- MILKA A dancing cow (Female/Male – two actors in costume)
- RED BULL A dancing bull (Female/Male – two actors in costume)
- MRS McDONALD Scottish. Dancing role. (Female)
- MR JONES Tom Jones. Singing role. (Male)
- HARP Irish. Annoying gold harp. (Female/Male)
- GOLDEN GOOSE Lots of movement. (Female/Male)
Auditions for the chorus will be held separately on 10 September (11:00 – 13:00), also at The Warehouse Studio Theatre (in the bar room).
- FARMYARD ANIMALS Small children’s chorus.
- VILLAGERS Older chorus.
